Discover your "prime time" with this simple exercise: track your hourly energy levels, plot them on a chart, and identify your peak periods. By connecting the dots, you'll see when your energy is highest-allowing you to schedule your most challenging tasks during these optimal times for maximum productivity.
- Choose a typical day to graph your energy level. Be prepared to spend a few minutes each hour evaluating your energy level and recording it on the chart.
- Above each hour of your day, place a checkbox in the box that best represents your level of energy for that hour.
- At the end of the day, check the overall connect dots.
- Examine your peaks and valleys of energy as represented on the graph. Note your high-energy periods.
Try this exercise for several days in a row or on days with varied activities to better understand your energy patterns.
